GLADRAGS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF PERIOD POSITIVITY WITH BIRTHDAY BASH AT HOLOCENE

Portland, OR – July 22, 2013 – GladRags invites you to toast its platinum anniversary at Holocene this Tuesday. After 20 years in the business of sustainability, this Portland native is celebrating with sweets, local beats and serious swag!

The bash kicks off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 with cupcakes, drinks, a raffle and Deya Card (wo)manning her truly unique photo booth. The night is set to the raucous post-punk sounds of local girl supergroup The Suicide Notes, followed by DJ Breakmode. Get there early, because the first 50 guests through the door will snag a bag packed with swag from the party’s fabulous sponsors, including Chinook Book, Oh Joy Sex Toy, Equal Exchange, Vegan Cuts, The Healthy Elements, Lunette, Ruby’s Red Wash, Christy Robinson, gDiapers, Ahara Rasa Ayurvedic Clinic, FEBY, Yoga Bhoga, Cupcake Jones, and Eastside Distillery.

The bash is 21+ with a $3 minimum donation. All proceeds go to Bitch Media, a nonprofit independent media outlet that provides a feminist voice in pop culture. Pay admission in advance and get one free raffle ticket!

GladRags has reason to be proud of its track history. In the past 20 years, the company has held fast to the sustainability mantra in both its product line and its business practices: Cloth pads are manufactured at Spooltown sewing factory in Portland, allowing a small network of local businesses to support each other. As a Certified B Corporation, GladRags extends its quality of life principles to its employees by guaranteeing living wage.

With its line of natural and reusable menstrual products, laundering supplies, and value kits, GladRags has proven itself an empowering lifestyle brand since 1993. For the past 20 years, it has provided a forum for consumers to discuss women’s health in a period-positive setting, all while offering eco-friendly tampon and pad alternatives that are healthier for both the body and the environment.
